Is it possible to save dying characters?

I haven't found a menu where I could cure a character who's bleeding out or petrified to bring them back into the combat. Is that possible? I do appreciate that they vanish, because otherwise the number of fireballs being tossed around would put every corpse at -50.

The answer to my question is that whenever you cast a cure spell, a menu with all of your characters pops up at the upper right, and you can cure the dying by clicking on their name. I had been looking for that before, but couldn't figure out how to make it pop up. Only once I cast my first Raise Dead, where the only way to use it is to find that menu, did I realize it would work for cure spells.
