According to the SRD 3.5, It is only "extra damage dice" (sneak attack, flaming, etc) which are not multiplied during the calculation of a critical hit. Damage not expressed as dice (strength, weapon bonus, specialization, etc) should be multiplied.

My 18 str knight who is wielding a falchion should score 4d4 + 12 on a successful critical, not 4d4 + 6.

Other than that, really enjoying the game.

Hello, thank you for your post & purchase Rasputin.

Yes I see: "A critical hit means that you roll your damage more than once, with all your usual bonuses, and add the rolls together. Unless otherwise specified, the threat range for a critical hit on an attack roll is 20, and the multiplier is ×2."

That's a bit ambiguous. Rolling damage with the usual bonuses. In this case though, I'm your DM and I house rule that you don't add any extra damage for strength. :)
