I just finished a run of the game on Steam and there's one achievement conspicuously missing.

Gnoll Slayer
Defeat the Gnoll ambush

Is this not the group of gnolls in the mountain pass where you fall through and land on sand? I reloaded back and did the fight again, still didn't trigger the cheevo. Is it somewhere else? I'm sure I've cleared every map. Thanks.

No, it's a different ambush that gets you the achievement. It's the battle that occurs when you leave the Orc Fort from its underground level, the one where you get Webbed and Lightning Bolt-ed.
