KOTC.exe hast stopped working

Hello

I recently purchased this game on GOG. As suggested I first tried out the Demo version. Everything seemed to work just fine until I won the battle against the lizardmen. I get the experience and gold award screen, than I try to continue the adventure aaaand.... the game crashes. That happens every single time I try to continue. Doesn't matter whether it's the fight in the ruins, or the one with the dwarf, same thing happens.

So I tried to begin the Full version adventure. I can create my party members just fine, but after I'm finished the same thing happens "KOTC.exe has stopped working."

I reinstalled the game multiple times. Tinkered with the in-game settings. Nothing helps.

When it comes to my OS it's Windows 7.

I would love to play this game, heard a lot of good things about it, but it simply refuses to work...

My apologies for the problem. It sounds like it may have something to do with the operating system.

My suggestions:

1) Please deactivate the User Account Control: https://customercare.primera.com/portal/en/kb/articles/how-do-i-disable-user-account-control-uac-in-windows-vista-windows-7-or-windows-8 and try again

2) If the UAC was already turned off, please try installing and using the XP mode to run KotC 1: https://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/8247-windows-xp-mode-install-setup-37.html

Normally, at least one of the two solutions above should work. Please let me know how it goes! Best regards :)
