How to get into the Hill Giant Fort?

I have taken the job to kill the Giants- but cannot get into the Hill giant fort- a force field stops me. How do I get in?

Hello Bashman, welcome to the forums. You must defeat the Slaver Lords before continuing on the Hill Giant quest.

OK to avoid spoily, please stop reading...

I've killed the Black dragon and wizard sidekick, and all the gnolls in that level of the dungeon, but I can't find anyplace else to go. What am I missing?

I had found the secret door, and I had camped and gone up the southern staircase, only to find myself back outside on the 1st level... Not knowing what else to do, I returned to the knights castle and defeated the summoned elementals. I had returned and ran through the dungeon again, this time taking (I THOUGHT) the other staircase and finding myself outside again. I figured both stairs pointed to the same location, so I didn't know what else to do. I'm back on path again.
