So I've recently started playing this awesome game again (I played it before, but never got around to finishing it). I've now once again arrived in the Ice Rift, but I'm facing a rather annoying issue: for some reason I can't remove the level drain on one of my knights.

I have the Level-7 Remove Negative Levels spell for my Cleric, the problem is that I simply can't use it, because it's constantly crossed out on my spell screen.

I'm probably overlooking something pretty huge here, but I can't figure it out. Why can't I cast the spell? What are the conditions for casting it?

P.S.: In case you were wondering, yes, I'm 100% sure the level drain is not being caused by a piece of equipment.

Hello TheGameSquid and welcome. Here are some possible reasons I can think of:
- Your cleric has exhausted his level-7 spell slots for the day
- Your cleric has been level drained
- Your cleric can't cast somatic spells because his hands are not free
- Your cleric can't cast verbal spells because he's mute.
