Cannot rename/type descriptions

Postby Zaershan » Tue Feb 22, 2011 1:04 am

Hello!

I've been having an issue ever since I switched to Windows 7.

Whenever I try to type in a new name, or a description, I cannot press "enter" to complete it. It will not let me save any changes I type.

If I use a virtual keyboard it works, but it's rather annoying.

Has anyone had this problem?

Hello Zaershan, you're the first one to mention it!

ah.. well.. any idea what could cause it?

Laptop - gateway md2614

Changes I have made to it

Replaced stock 3gb pc 5300 ram with 4gb pc 6400 ram

Loaded Windows 7 Ultimate 64x on it. (came from vista 64x)
All drivers and such are up to date, have never had this problem with any other software or app. Have tried messing around with different windows components, even playing with dxinput. no such luck though, and although I am the first to mention it - got any suggestions or should I just stick my head in the mud.

I have no idea. I'm using Vista 64 myself. Suggestions:
- try the Enter key on the numeric keypad and combinations like shift+enter
- try running the programme in Windows XP compatibility mode or any other compatibility mode.

I have attempted those fixes with no luck, I even bought a USB Numpad and it did not solve the issue.

=[. It might be picky, but darnit I wanna re-name all my equipment! lol

Does the Enter key work in all your other programmes? Things like PhraseExpress can block the enter key. I looked in the code and the numpad enter is actually not supposed to work for changing names, I'll add support for that to the list of things I'd like to change in the next version if/when I release one.

enter works everywhere else.

:x Confuzed.

Ah, and I don't have any software that might be blocking it. I run a pretty tight ship as it is, the only things that are running on my laptop asides from o/s services are anti virus (kaspersky internet security) and ATI CCC. I've disabled the Anti virus to determine if that had any bearing, and I disabled it's ability to block keyloggers - but this did not help. As all the other keys in the game work, just not enter. So I'm not sure if it's a way windows is interpreting the enter key on my laptop possibly as a num pad enter when it's not, but afaik everything suggest that it's a normal enter key.
